While you have the right and the choice to leave the safety of the Pallbearer to take on your foes, you don't have to. There are a few occasions where you must land in a hangar and deal with an ambush. Turret One of the handiest weapons on the Pallbearer is also the most hidden. Great for long distance hook-ups or for fast-moving dogfights. The homing missile has enough range to track targets that can't even be seen on screen. It's not often something like this happens. The missiles will track, but the target can get craft and put an asteroid between himself and the missile and get free of the attack. You can fire a missile about every five seconds at the target. When you've locked on the reticle turns red. To lock onto a target, you need to have the ship selected, then keep it within the rectangular brackets for about 10 seconds. It's a powerful weapon, but it needs to lock onto a target before you can launch. Homing Missiles The homing missile, on the other hand, takes a bit of time before you can fire it. These missiles are for stationary targets, like big ships, or when an enemy is very close to you, so close that missing is almost impossible. It can't lock onto a target but you can shoot in quick succession. The first is a straightforward missile that goes where you point it. There are two types you will have at your disposal. Straight Missiles The only real difference in ordinance comes with missiles. You can toggle between the different guns on the ship or different missiles. The guns are always fired with the Right Trigger, missiles with the Left. Each ship has at least one type of gun (lasers, machinegun, what-have-you) and missiles. But even when you hop into the cockpit of another ship, the controls and principles remain the same. =Know Your Ship= For most of the time, you'll be using the Pallbearer Mk III, the standard Ranger ship. That means that if you can learn how to kick ass in space once, you can do it every time. The good thing is that just about every space combat mission is the same, requiring the exact same tactics. ![]() Every level features some form of ship piloting, most of those involving massive dogfights with enemy ships. Though only about 20% of Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter involves spaceship combat, it's an important 20%. ![]()
